Xiaomi Unveils YU7 Electric SUV to Challenge Tesla’s Model Y

Xiaomi has officially lifted the curtain on its YU7 electric SUV, following the success of its SU7 sedan. The mid-to-large size EV comes with bold dimensions, ultra-luxury interiors, and high-performance specs aimed squarely at Tesla’s Model Y. With a 4,999 mm length and 3,000 mm wheelbase, it surpasses the Model Y in size, while boasting a rich color palette and innovative touches like UWB-powered keyless entry.

Inside, the YU7 pampers passengers with Nappa leather zero-gravity seats, massage functions, and a sprawling 1.1-meter “HyperVision” dashboard display, powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Three performance variants offer up to 508 kW of power and 866 Nm of torque, with the Max AWD model sprinting to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.

Built on an 800-volt platform, the YU7 offers up to 835 km of range and can regain 620 km in just 15 minutes. Safety is equally prioritized, featuring a bullet-resistant battery, Nvidia Thor chip, LiDAR, and extensive structural reinforcements. Pricing will be revealed at Xiaomi’s July 2025 launch event.
