WhatsApp’s in-development translation tool is getting a major upgrade. Initially, users were expected to select a language and download a language pack manually. However, the latest beta update (v2.25.4.5) suggests the tool will now automatically detect languages and translate messages in real time.

This feature will function entirely on device to ensure privacy, requiring a 24MB download for language detection. The automation will be particularly useful in group chats, eliminating the need for users to manually choose languages. While it’s still in development, this enhancement could make cross-language communication much more seamless.

Additionally, WhatsApp is working on allowing personal users to add social media profile links, a feature currently limited to business accounts. These updates indicate a broader push toward making WhatsApp more interactive and globally accessible.
