WhatsApp is ringing in the new year with several exciting new features, now officially rolling out for users. The first major update includes camera effects, bringing 30 backgrounds, filters, and effects to both photos and videos. These were previously available only for video calls, but now they can be applied to images as well.
Another fun addition is the ability to turn selfies into stickers. Simply tap “Create sticker” in the sticker section, take a selfie, and instantly turn it into a personalized sticker. This feature is currently rolling out to Android users, with iOS support expected soon.
WhatsApp is also enhancing communication with the ability to share sticker packs directly in chats. Lastly, users can now double-tap a message to quickly react with their most used emojis, streamlining the messaging experience for faster responses.
