Spotify has unveiled a wave of new features aimed at refining user experience on both Android and iOS. Premium subscribers now enjoy an overhauled Queue with improved Shuffle, Smart Shuffle, Repeat, and Sleep Timer controls, plus personalized track recommendations after your queued songs. Autoplay and Smart Shuffle can also be toggled off via Settings. A new Hide button makes it easier to remove songs from playlists across all devices, and Snooze will temporarily hide a track from recommendations for 30 days.

Playlists also get quality-of-life upgrades. You can quickly Add, Sort, and Edit playlists, while in select countries like the US, UK, and Australia, Liked Songs can now be turned into custom playlists. A new “+” button simplifies playlist creation, collaboration, and Blend participation. AI Playlist and real-time Jam sessions for Premium users are rolling out in supported markets.

Meanwhile, Spotify posted record financial results last week, reporting 678 million monthly users and €509 million in operating income. Premium subscribers grew by 5 million to 268 million in Q1 2025 a 12% year-over-year jump.
