Sony is teasing its upcoming Xperia 1 VII, highlighting a return to its audio roots with Walkman-powered sound features. In a newly released teaser, Sony hints at upgraded audio capabilities, setting the Xperia 1 VII apart from other 2025 flagships.
Notably, the Xperia 1 VII will retain its 3.5mm headphone jack a rare feature in today’s premium smartphone market. This move caters to audiophiles craving lossless wired audio without adapters. Alongside the Walkman integration, users can expect enhanced audio processing and hi-res playback options.
The Xperia 1 VII won’t just be about sound. Sony previously teased Alpha-powered camera tech, suggesting photography upgrades tied to its Alpha imaging division. Hardware-wise, the phone will ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite chip and Android 15 out of the box. Design-wise, it sticks close to its predecessor but comes in slightly shorter and wider.
The official launch is scheduled for next week and it looks like Sony’s aiming for the hearts of photographers and audiophiles alike.
