Samsung is expanding its digital car key ecosystem, announcing a new partnership with Mercedes-Benz. Starting in July 2025, certain Mercedes owners will be able to store and use their digital car keys via Samsung Wallet, allowing them to unlock and start their vehicles without a physical key.
This functionality will rely on Bluetooth LE and Ultra-Wideband (UWB), meaning only select high-end Galaxy smartphones will support the feature. While Samsung hasn’t confirmed the full list of compatible Mercedes models just yet, the rollout promises broader integration than what we’ve seen with brands like Volvo and Polestar, where digital key support is limited to a handful of markets and models.

Samsung Wallet already offers digital car key support for BMW, Mini, Audi, and the Hyundai Group, and the addition of Mercedes-Benz marks a significant milestone. The move signals Samsung’s commitment to making Wallet a more practical, all-in-one lifestyle tool covering payments, IDs, tickets, and now, a growing number of digital car keys.
More details on compatible devices and vehicle models are expected once the feature goes live next month.
