Renault has unveiled the Filante Record 2025, a futuristic single-seater electric vehicle designed to push efficiency limits. Set to debut at the Rétromobile auto show in Paris (Feb. 5-9), the concept draws inspiration from Renault’s historic endurance cars while serving as a rolling laboratory for aerodynamics, weight reduction, and rolling resistance.

Weighing just 2,200 pounds despite its 1,322-pound battery the Filante features a cell-to-pack battery design and a carbon-fiber casing. Aerodynamic enhancements include an elongated body and enclosed wheels to reduce drag. Renault collaborated with Michelin to create special tires that lower rolling resistance by 40% compared to conventional ones.

While Renault hasn’t disclosed powertrain details, the Filante Record 2025 will attempt an efficiency record in the first half of 2025, marking a bold step in EV innovation.
