After months of limited beta availability, Google is now widely rolling out the “Use mobile data” toggle for Quick Share on Android. This update ensures that file transfers can continue even if the devices lose their direct Wi-Fi connection, using mobile data to complete the process seamlessly.

The feature first appeared in February via the Google Play services beta channel, but it’s now showing up for users on Play services version 25.18. Reports confirm sightings on devices like the Pixel 8 Pro (Android 16 QPR1 beta) and Xiaomi 15 Ultra, indicating a broader public rollout.

You can check for the option by heading to Settings > More connectivity options > Quick Share. If missing, update to the latest Play services version. By default, the toggle is enabled, though users on limited data plans should be mindful of potential charges during large transfers.
This small but practical tweak keeps Quick Share reliable on the go, reducing failed file transfers when connections drop unexpectedly.
