The PS5 has outsold the PS4 by 4%, while the Xbox Series X/S is trailing the Xbox One by 19%, according to recent sales reports. Sony’s PS5 has sold 65 million units, significantly ahead of Xbox Series X/S, which stands at 30 million.

Despite declining overall hardware sales in January 2025, Sony remains the dominant force in this generation. Between October and December 2024, 9.5 million PS5 units were sold, contributing to its continued lead. Meanwhile, Microsoft has begun porting Xbox-exclusive games to PS5, signaling a shift in strategy.

With titles like Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition and Forza Horizon 5 heading to PlayStation, the gap between the two console giants seems likely to grow even wider in the coming years.
