CAPCOM has unveiled Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a new entry in the iconic Onimusha series, set for release in 2026 on PC and consoles. Revealed during The Game Awards with an intense trailer, the game will retain the atmospheric elements of earlier titles while introducing new gameplay mechanics.
Set in Kyoto during the early Edo period, the game sees a lone samurai wielding the Oni Gauntlet as he battles the demonic Genma that have overtaken the city. While the 2019 remaster of Onimusha: Warlords didn’t make a significant impact, the announcement of Way of the Sword brings renewed excitement for fans of the series.
