The OnePlus Nord 5 is shaping up to be much more than the simple rebrand many expected. Fresh Geekbench listings confirm this isn’t just a recycled Ace 5 Ultra Edition in disguise. Packing the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and 12GB of RAM, the Nord 5 could be one of the most compelling mid-premium options OnePlus has dropped in a while.

Spotted under the Indian model number CPH2707, the Nord 5 posted solid benchmark scores — 1,977 in single-core and 5,090 in multi-core tests. That’s no slouch and a noticeable jump over its sibling, the Nord CE 5, which clocked in at 1,321 and 4,082 respectively. The CE 5 will run on a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chip, paired with 8GB of RAM. Both devices will boot Android 15 out of the box, topped with the new OxygenOS 15 skin.

What caught my attention is how this finally puts those persistent rebrand rumors to rest. The OnePlus Nord 5 was long rumored to be a renamed Ace 5 Ultra Edition, but this chip-and-benchmark combo tells a different story. I never fully bought into those leaks — and it looks like I was right to be skeptical.

Both smartphones are expected to officially launch on July 8, with global and Indian variants confirmed. Beyond the processor, RAM, and OS details, not much else is locked in yet. That said, if OnePlus gets the pricing right, the Nord 5 could easily find a sweet spot for users craving flagship-grade power without flagship-level pricing.
This might finally be the Nord model that breaks out of OnePlus’s habit of playing it too safe with specs. Let’s see if they stick the landing next month.
