Following DeepSeek’s meteoric rise, Nvidia has acknowledged the Chinese AI model’s success, calling it an “excellent AI advancement.” The statement, sent to TechRadar, also highlights DeepSeek’s use of Test Time Scaling and emphasizes Nvidia GPUs’ critical role in AI inference.
DeepSeek, a free AI chatbot, has shaken the AI industry, surpassing ChatGPT in the App Store and causing Nvidia’s stock to drop by $600 billion—the largest in history. Despite this, Nvidia hints that DeepSeek will still rely on its GPUs for future expansion.

DeepSeek’s success stems from its efficient Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture, which reduces computational costs while maintaining high performance. OpenAI’s Sam Altman also praised DeepSeek’s cost-effective model but remains confident OpenAI will deliver superior AI in the future.
As DeepSeek deals with high demand and reported cyberattacks, the AI race between China and the US continues to intensify.
