Mercedes-Benz is upgrading over 2 million vehicles globally with its new MBUX 2.6 software update, bringing advanced features to both electric and non-electric models. A major highlight is Google Satellite View, offering detailed visuals of real-world surroundings ideal for rural navigation and improved orientation.
EV drivers benefit the most. A new feature called Live Alternative Routes for Navigation with Electric Intelligence now calculates efficient routes based on driving range, traffic, and charging station stops. It’s designed to cut down travel time and charging hassle on the go available on second-gen MBUX-equipped electric vehicles.
MBUX also gets smarter with ChatGPT integration. Now available in over three million cars, the AI assistant can handle casual conversations, answer trivia, and manage follow-up questions giving drivers a more intuitive voice interface. And for off-road enthusiasts with the G 580, the new Offroad Track feature lets drivers capture and share scenic adventures, complete with performance data and location tags.
