Apple’s long-rumored iPhone Fold is shaping up to be one of the company’s boldest engineering projects yet. According to a fresh leak from Digital Chat Station, Apple plans to equip its foldable phone with two different camera technologies: an under-display camera for the large internal screen and a hole-punch camera for the external display.

The under-display camera would eliminate visible notches or cutouts on the folding screen, aiming for a seamless viewing experience. However, integrating this kind of camera tech remains a technical challenge, as it needs to perform reliably beneath a lit display without compromising photo quality.

Alongside this, reports suggest the device will feature a side-mounted Touch ID sensor, skipping Face ID entirely. The foldable’s display sizes have been slightly adjusted from previous prototypes, but resolutions and aspect ratios remain consistent. Rumored to launch by 2026 or 2027, Apple’s foldable will also prioritize reducing screen creases and introducing a premium hinge system.
