Apple’s iPhone 16e has defied expectations, achieving a 60% higher sales volume than the iPhone SE 3 within its first three days. Despite controversy over its $599 price $170 more than its predecessor the phone has quickly gained traction among consumers. It introduces a modern design, supports Apple Intelligence, and offers 8GB RAM, making it more future proof than even the base iPhone 15.

One major factor driving sales is the lack of alternatives in Apple’s lineup. With the SE series discontinued, the iPhone 16e is now the most affordable way to enter the Apple ecosystem. Business adoption has also played a role, as companies often prioritize cost-effective yet capable iPhones for employees. Even though some feel the price increase is steep, the demand remains high.

While the iPhone 16e is performing well in most regions, Apple continues to struggle in China. The new model’s success may not be enough to counter declining market share in the country, where local brands are gaining dominance.
