iPhone 16e Drops MagSafe

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16e may seem like a solid choice, but there’s a major omission MagSafe support. While the device still offers Qi wireless charging, it lacks the magnet ring required for MagSafe accessories, meaning users will need to rely on traditional car mounts and chargers.

MagSafe, introduced with the iPhone 12, enhances wireless charging by ensuring precise alignment and supporting various accessories like SSDs, camera grips, and speakers. Without it, iPhone 16e users may face limitations in using Apple’s expanding MagSafe ecosystem.

However, third-party case makers are expected to offer solutions by adding a magnet ring to restore some MagSafe functionality. Whether that fully compensates for the missing feature remains to be seen, but it’s a notable trade-off for those considering the iPhone 16e.
