Switching phones has gotten easier over the years, but transferring eSIMs has remained a frustrating hurdle especially for iPhone users moving to Android. Right now, it requires contacting your carrier for a new QR code to activate service on the new device.

That might finally change with iOS 19. According to recent leaks and code strings found in Google’s SIM Manager app, Apple appears to be working on a feature called “Transfer to Android.” This function would let users seamlessly transfer their eSIM profiles to an Android phone using a QR code, session ID, and passcode.

The update is expected to be unveiled during Apple’s WWDC 2025, scheduled for June 9-13. If confirmed, it’ll be a long-overdue convenience for those jumping between ecosystems. It’s rumored the feature will only work on devices running iOS 19 or later. More details should arrive in the next couple of weeks.
