Instagram’s much-anticipated video-editing app, Edits, has been delayed by two weeks, now set to launch on March 31, 2025, instead of March 13. The change was noticed on the app’s pre-order page in the App Store.

Announced last month, Edits is Instagram’s answer to CapCut, offering tools for creators to combine clips, crop videos, add sound, and apply subtitles. The app will also include an inspiration tab, a high-quality in-app camera, and collaboration features for sharing drafts with friends. Unlike some competitors, Edits will allow exporting videos without a watermark and provide insights into video performance.

The app will first launch on iOS, with an Android version expected later. While the delay is minor, it highlights Instagram’s push to compete directly with TikTok and ByteDance’s CapCut in the short-form video space.
