If you’ve been frustrated by disappearing edits in Google Photos’ Magic Editor, you’re not alone but relief has arrived. Google has officially acknowledged and fixed a bug that was preventing some users from saving their edits after using the AI-powered feature.
Magic Editor, one of Google Photos’ most advanced tools, lets users modify backgrounds, adjust subjects, and even change lighting with generative AI. However, a recent bug made it impossible for some to save those changes, effectively undoing all that creative work.
Google responded swiftly after users flagged the issue:
“We’ve rolled out a fix, and you should now be able to save your edits seamlessly.”
The issue appears to be resolved across devices, and users can go back to editing without worry. If you were impacted, make sure your Google Photos app is updated to the latest version to benefit from the patch.
