Google Launches Doppl – An AI-Powered Virtual Outfit Try-On App

Google’s dipping into AI fashion tech with its latest app called Doppl. First teased during the Google I/O 2024 event in May, this fresh release from Google Labs lets users virtually try on clothes and see how outfits would look on them no changing room required.

Using AI image processing, Doppl lets you snap or upload a photo of the clothing you want to try and superimpose it onto your image with realistic draping and fit. But it doesn’t stop at a static image. Doppl cleverly converts your look into a short animated video, giving a dynamic, multi-angle preview of how the outfit would appear in real life.

The app also adds a social spin. Users can save their favorite outfits, share them with friends, or swap style ideas in-app. It’s a concept that feels like a modern, AI-enhanced take on the iconic virtual wardrobe from the 1995 film Clueless except now, it’s in your pocket.

Doppl

Doppl is currently available in the US for both Android and iOS through Google Play and the App Store. While there’s no word on an international rollout yet, given Google’s history with experimental apps, global users might see it soon if initial feedback is positive.
