Google Confirms Instagram Battery Drain on Android — Fix Now Rolling Out

Android users frustrated with Instagram’s recent battery drain issues can finally breathe easy. Google has officially confirmed the problem after waves of complaints from Reddit and social media users. Reports highlighted that Instagram was guzzling battery at a much higher rate than other apps with similar screen-on times one Redditor noted a staggering 12.4% battery use over just 54 minutes.

In an attempt to troubleshoot, some users reverted to older versions of Instagram, only to experience device overheating. Others opted for Instagram Lite, which immediately improved battery life, reinforcing that the issue was specific to the main app. The battery-hungry glitch affected various Android devices, leaving users scrambling for workarounds.

Thankfully, a fix is now here. Google has advised updating to Instagram build 382.0.0.49.84, which reportedly resolves the battery drain. Early feedback confirms that the update has stabilized battery performance, offering much-needed relief to Android users glued to the platform.
