Google Chat Might Soon Support Scheduled Messages and Gemini AI Integration

Google Chat could soon receive a much-needed productivity boost with two powerful features in development: scheduled messages and Gemini AI integration. Spotted in the Gmail app v2025.04.13, these updates suggest users may soon be able to schedule messages for any time, date, or day of the week, without needing third-party tools. A dedicated view for managing scheduled messages is also expected.

Alongside message scheduling, Google is working to bring Gemini AI to Google Chat on mobile. Already available on the web, Gemini can summarize conversations, generate action items, and provide context-aware assistance. On mobile, users will be able to tap the Gemini icon in the Chat tab to interact via a bottom sheet UI with suggestions and prompt input.

As of now, neither feature is officially live, but their presence in development builds strongly hints at a rollout in the near future. Both improvements are aimed at making Google Chat more competitive and AI-smart for productivity-focused users.
