Gemini AI Confirmed for Wear OS, Android Auto, and More Devices This Year

Google has officially confirmed that its AI chatbot Gemini will expand to more devices later this year, marking a major shift for the company’s ecosystem. Currently available on Android phones and the web, Gemini is set to replace Google Assistant on tablets, Wear OS smartwatches, Android Auto, headphones, and other connected devices. The announcement came from CEO Sundar Pichai during Google’s Q1 2025 earnings call.

While no exact launch date has been disclosed, all signs point toward more details at the upcoming Google I/O conference next month. The move has long been anticipated by Android enthusiasts, especially after app teardowns earlier this year uncovered evidence of Gemini’s integration with cars and watches. A limited version called Gemini Live has also been spotted on Android Auto.

Although this marks a big step for Google’s AI ambitions, users reliant on long-time Assistant features like routines may need to adjust. Gemini’s strengths reportedly lie in its multi-language support and faster, more responsive AI interactions.
