Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch8 series is reportedly switching to a squircle design, blending soft square edges with a circular display. The new shape mirrors last year’s Galaxy Watch Ultra, signaling a unified aesthetic for Samsung’s smartwatch lineup.

Firmware deep dives into One UI 8 Watch for the Galaxy Watch8 Classic confirmed the design shift and revealed two size options for the standard Watch8. The Watch8 Classic, however, will reportedly only come in one size and could feature a Quick Button similar to the Ultra model, plus enhanced vibration patterns. While rumors persist about the rotating bezel’s return, it remains unconfirmed.

One UI 8 Watch will debut alongside the devices, bringing smartphone features like the Now Bar to wearables, randomized watch faces, a new Shortcuts app, and a battery protection feature limiting charge percentages to extend battery health. Interestingly, there’s no mention yet of a Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, suggesting last year’s Ultra may hold its top-tier position for another season.
