A fresh leak offers a first glimpse at Samsung’s upcoming One UI Watch 8 update and it’s bringing redesigned icons along for the ride. Shared by leaker IposDev, images showcase new squircle-style icons featuring bold white borders and higher-contrast designs. However, it’s still unclear if these will remain squircle-shaped on the watch face, as hints suggest a return to round icons for the final UI.

Among the icon set is the notable Gemini icon, set to replace Google Assistant on Wear OS smartwatches later this year. Though some users have already seen the icon appear, tapping it still launches Google Assistant for now.

Interestingly, Samsung appears to be skipping One UI 7 Watch entirely, moving directly from One UI 6 Watch to version 8. Alongside the leaks, APKs from the new firmware have surfaced online, though they currently aren’t installable on older Galaxy Watch models. Expect deeper dives into these files soon as enthusiasts dissect potential new features hidden within.
