Docker Desktop for macOS users encountered malware warnings due to improperly signed files triggering macOS’s security tools, including XProtect and Gatekeeper.
Starting January 7, users reported “Malware Blocked” alerts, preventing Docker from running. The issue stemmed from code-signing errors, not actual malware.
The Docker team identified the problem on January 8 and released a patch on January 9 for versions 4.32 to 4.37. A support document provides steps for applying the patch, and IT admins can use an MDM script for corporate environments.
