Cadillac has officially received final approval to join the Formula 1 grid in 2026, backed by TWG Motorsports and General Motors (GM). The FIA and Formula One Management confirmed that Cadillac met all necessary requirements, marking a major expansion of the F1 lineup. FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem hailed it as a “transformative moment” for the sport, aligning with the 2026 regulations and pushing the boundaries of motorsport.

GM President Mark Reuss expressed excitement, stating that Cadillac is accelerating its F1 preparations and expanding its engineering expertise. The team, led by former Marussia Sporting Director Graeme Lowdon and industry veteran Russ O’Blenes, is rapidly assembling top-tier talent. Key hires and technological advancements are already in progress, with over 200 personnel working on aerodynamics, chassis, and power unit development.

With multiple bases across the U.S. and the UK, Cadillac aims to become a “full works” team by the end of the decade. Their entry into F1 promises fresh competition, innovation, and a new team for fans to rally behind.
