Asus’ Xbox-Branded Handheld Leaks Online -Possible Reveal This Month

Leaked images of Asus’ Xbox-branded handheld, codenamed Project Kennan, have surfaced online and it’s already stirring hype. First spotted by 91mobiles and confirmed by Eurogamer, the images show two variants of the Asus ROG Ally 2: one white and one black, both featuring Xbox-styled buttons and a prominent Xbox button on the black version.

While detailed specs remain under wraps, Windows Central’s Jez Corden claims the devices are currently being tested at Microsoft HQ, hinting at a possible reveal around May 20. The leak follows Asus ROG’s recent teaser of an ROG-branded Xbox controller and handheld, which Xbox cheekily acknowledged on social media.

Interestingly, this isn’t Microsoft’s own long-rumored handheld. Reports suggest the company’s official Xbox handheld could arrive in 2027, alongside a next-gen Xbox console, which is reportedly already in production. Xbox boss Phil Spencer confirmed a first-party portable is still “years away.”

For now, Project Kennan might be as close as Xbox handheld fans will get in 2025.
