Apple’s much-anticipated AI-powered Siri upgrade originally demoed at WWDC for iOS 18 is now reportedly on track for a fall 2025 release, according to The New York Times. This follows a wave of conflicting reports, including earlier claims from Reuters that suggested the features were delayed until 2026. Apple insiders now reaffirm the virtual assistant’s smarter version will arrive later this year.

These Apple Intelligence features promise a huge leap in functionality. Siri will gain personal context, pulling insights from emails, messages, files, and even photos to answer complex queries like “What’s my passport number?” It’ll also feature onscreen awareness, letting Siri act on visible content like adding an address from a text to a contact card.

With deeper app integration, Siri will handle tasks such as editing and sending photos, moving files between apps, or sharing live ETAs. While delays have sparked lawsuits and user frustration, Apple appears determined to roll out its most powerful Siri yet 15+ months after its WWDC debut.
