Apple Vision Pro 2 May Use Titanium to Shed Weight

Apple is reportedly redesigning its next-gen Vision headset with a focus on cutting down its biggest drawback: the weight. According to leaker Kosutami, the upcoming model possibly named Apple Vision or Vision Air will feature titanium internal structures, replacing parts of the aluminum chassis to reduce bulk without compromising strength.

While the outer shell will remain aluminum, painted in a dark graphite blue reminiscent of the iPhone 5 era, the internal titanium shift could help Apple improve user comfort during extended wear. However, it remains unclear how Apple plans to balance this lightweight approach with cost, as titanium is notably more expensive than aluminum.

Kosutami’s leak suggests a refined, lighter form factor, but lacks a confirmed release date. Rumors of an April 2026 launch have circulated, but remain unverified. Given the leaker’s mixed track record, this info should be taken with a pinch of skepticism though Apple’s move to optimize comfort and differentiate visually seems likely.
