Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch a dedicated gaming app across its ecosystem, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple TV devices. The app is expected to be preinstalled and introduced during WWDC 2025, kicking off June 9. The official rollout would likely happen with iOS 19 this fall alongside the next-gen iPhones.

The upcoming app is designed to serve as a centralized gaming hub, bringing together in-game achievements, leaderboards, communication features, and editorial content. It’s also expected to promote Apple Arcade, the $6.99/month subscription service, and could potentially support third-party game downloads on Macs.

This initiative appears to be a major overhaul of Apple’s long-dormant Game Center, originally launched in 2010. Despite iPhones being among the most-used gaming devices globally, Apple still struggles to be seen as a serious gaming brand. Whether this new app will shift that perception or just act as a sophisticated launcher remains to be seen.
