Apple is moving forward with integrating Google Gemini into Apple Intelligence, offering users an alternative to ChatGPT. Code found in the iOS 18.4 beta references both OpenAI and Google, signaling Apple’s work on supporting multiple AI partners. While Apple has not officially announced a launch date, the integration could arrive with the iOS 18.4 public release in April.

Apple previously stated its intention to collaborate with various AI providers, including Google, and aims to process user requests on-device before engaging third party models with user consent. Like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Gemini’s integration will likely follow strict privacy standards. However, despite the backend update, there’s no certainty when or if Gemini support will roll out.

Additionally, Apple has confirmed that Apple Intelligence will launch in the EU in April alongside iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4, expanding support for more languages and AI driven features.
