Google’s latest Android Auto 14.0 update is rolling out, and while there are no visible changes, code hints at Gemini replacing Google Assistant soon. Strings like “Gemini is now the personal AI assistant in your car” suggest an imminent transition. Feedback prompts related to Gemini also indicate Google is gearing up for a full AI shift in Android Auto.
At this stage, users can’t activate Gemini, but its presence in the app’s code suggests the transition is nearing completion. Alongside this, Android Auto 14.0 also brings new HD Radio logo assets and continues background development on local media and car control features, which remain inactive for now.
Google’s shift toward Gemini powered AI across its ecosystem could soon enhance voice interactions in vehicles, making Android Auto smarter and more intuitive. With Google Assistant’s exit likely on the horizon, a new AI-driven driving experience awaits.
