Google Debuts Imagen 4 AI Model: Faster, Sharper, and Text-Friendly Image Generation

Google has introduced Imagen 4, its latest AI image generation model, at the I/O 2025 event promising sharper, more realistic visuals. According to Google, Imagen 4 delivers high-quality details like fabrics, fur, and water droplets, with support for both photorealistic and abstract styles. It can generate images in various aspect ratios at resolutions up to 2K.

A major upgrade over Imagen 3, this version also improves how it handles text and typography, making it suitable for slide designs, invitations, and media blending text with visuals. Google’s Labs head Josh Woodward highlighted Imagen 4’s advances in accuracy and flexibility, addressing issues from earlier iterations.

Imagen 4 is now available inside the Gemini app, Google’s Whisk and Vertex AI platforms, and integrated into Workspace tools like Slides, Vids, and Docs. Google also teased an ultra-fast variant, expected soon, capable of generating images up to 10 times quicker than its predecessor.
