Xiaomi Secures Nürburgring Deal, Expands Into EV Development

Xiaomi is shifting gears in a big way, officially becoming a premium partner of Germany’s iconic Nürburgring racetrack. The deal includes naming rights for a corner on the Grand Prix circuit now dubbed the “Xiaomi Curve” and a new advertising installation on the legendary Nordschleife.

The partnership deepens Xiaomi’s growing presence in the automotive world. In 2023, the Chinese tech giant made headlines when its 1,500 hp SU7 Ultra Prototype electric sedan clocked an eye-watering 6:46 lap time around the 20.8-kilometer Nordschleife. That feat wasn’t a one-off. Xiaomi has since joined the Nürburgring’s Industriepool, a private testing program for automotive companies to develop and refine new vehicles.

This move marks Xiaomi’s commitment beyond smartphones and into high-performance, EV innovation. Nürburgring CEO Christian Stephani welcomed the partnership, highlighting the circuit’s value as a global proving ground for cutting-edge automotive tech. With Xiaomi’s expanded footprint, expect more record-breaking electric laps and tech showcases soon.
