Meta’s next-gen smart glasses, codenamed Hypernova, could come with a custom version of Android and a Neural Wristband for hands-free control. Unlike its previous Ray-Ban glasses, Meta aims to integrate a floating display, making them more competitive with rivals.
The Android-based OS will likely feature pre-installed apps like a camera, gallery, and maps, though no dedicated app store is expected yet. The Neural Wristband, included with the glasses, will allow users to control functions through subtle wrist movements, offering a more natural, less conspicuous interaction method compared to touch gestures.
While pricing details are unknown, Meta’s previous smart glasses sold over a million units at $299. If these new glasses deliver an immersive interface with better controls, they could push smart eyewear into the mainstream.
