Apple is expected to launch a new M4 MacBook Air on Wednesday, following the recent debut of the M3 iPad Air and A16-powered base iPad. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the refresh will likely be a minor spec bump, with the M4 chip being the key upgrade while keeping the same design and two size options.

The M4 chip first appeared in May 2024 with the seventh-generation iPad Pro, and its inclusion in the MacBook Air suggests improved performance and efficiency. Alongside the new chip, Apple may also introduce an ultra-wide webcam, as hinted at in macOS code references. However, the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips are expected to remain exclusive to the MacBook Pro lineup.

If the report holds true, this will mark another step in Apple’s ongoing transition to next-gen silicon, further solidifying its Mac lineup with faster and more power-efficient processors.
