Apple is set to introduce its next-generation M5 processor in MacBook Pro models by fall 2025, according to a Bloomberg report. This marks a shift from the M4 launch cycle, where the chip first appeared in the iPad Pro before Macs.

Before the M5 rollout, Apple will refresh the MacBook Air with M4 chips as soon as March, followed by M4 updates for the Mac Studio and Mac Pro, likely around WWDC 2025 in June. The Mac mini and iMac may also receive M5 upgrades before the year ends.

Meanwhile, the iPad Pro is expected to adopt the M5 chip in late 2025 or early 2026, following the Mac lineup’s transition. This move highlights Apple’s focus on Mac-first chip advancements, potentially benefiting the next-gen Apple Vision Pro as well.
