Apple’s AR Smart Glasses May Still Be in Development

Apple’s augmented reality (AR) smart glasses project may not be dead after all. While Bloomberg initially reported that the project was shelved alongside Apple’s abandoned car plans, new insights suggest otherwise. According to Mark Gurman, Apple is still committed to developing standalone AR glasses, working on core technologies like display panels and silicon to make the device viable in the future.

This update comes as smart glasses gain momentum in the tech industry, with companies like RayNeo, Xreal, and TCL pushing innovation in immersive AR displays. While Apple may take time to bring its product to market, its continued investment in the category signals that AR glasses could still be part of its long-term vision.
