Sony is offering PlayStation Plus users an additional five days of service as compensation for an 18-hour PlayStation Network (PSN) outage that disrupted online gaming globally. While PSN services have been restored, Sony has not disclosed the cause of the issue.

The outage, which began late Friday, left thousands of players unable to sign in, access online games, or visit the PlayStation Store. Downdetector recorded nearly 8,000 affected users in the U.S. and over 7,000 in the U.K. at its peak. Gamers voiced their frustration on social media, calling for better service stability.
Sony reassured users via a post on X, apologizing for the inconvenience and thanking the community for their patience.
