In 2025, Vivo is stepping into the mixed reality (MR) space with the launch of its new MR headset, aiming to rival Apple’s Vision Pro. The device, expected to be showcased as a prototype later this year in September or October, promises features that could surpass the Vision Pro. Vivo’s MR team has grown to 500 members, signaling the company’s serious commitment to this niche, despite Apple’s lackluster sales performance. If Vivo can deliver a similar experience at a significantly lower price, it could disrupt the market. The MR headset will undergo high-fidelity prototype experiences across China by late 2025, with its official release depending on the readiness of supporting content ecosystems.
